Description

FALLS ARE AMONG THE MOST COMMON CAUSES OF SERIOUS WORK-RELATED INJURIES AND DEATHS.

OSHA requires that fall protection be provided at elevations of four feet in general industry workplaces, in addition, OSHA requires that fall protection be provided when working over dangerous equipment and machinery, regardless of the fall distance. Employers must take measures in their workplaces to prevent employees from falling off overhead platforms, elevated work stations or into holes in the floor and walls.

OSHA requires employers to provide working conditions that are free of known dangers, keep floors in work areas in a clean and sanitary condition, and select and provide required personal protective equipment at no cost to workers.

This course will cover basic Fall Protection requirements for General Industry. You will learn how to identify areas or activities where Fall Protection is required: such as elevated walkways, floor holes, wall openings, walking and working surfaces, ladders, etc.
