FALLS ARE THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH IN CONSTRUCTION.
OSHA documents show that in 2013, there were 291 fatal falls to a lower level out of 828 total fatalities in construction. These deaths are preventable.
When working from heights, such as ladders, scaffolds, and roofs, employers must plan projects to ensure that the job is done safely. By deciding how the job will be done, what tasks will be involved, and what safety equipment may be needed to complete each task, the project can be completed and everyone can walk away injury free.
This course will cover basic Fall Protection requirements for Construction. You will learn how to identify areas or activities where Fall Protection is required: such as elevated walkways, floor holes, wall openings, walking and working surfaces, ladders, etc.
