This course is designed to familiarize participants with the regulatory requirements imposed by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) concerning disposal and storage of hazardous wastes. 40 CFR Part 265.16 is required training for facility personnel handling hazardous waste. They must successfully complete a program of classroom instruction or on the job training teaching them to respond effectrively to emergencies by familiarizing them with emergency procedures, emergency equipment, and emergency systems. This course emphasizes 40 CFR part 262 requirements to include manifesting, pre-transport requirements, record keeping and reporting. Students will receive information on accumulation time and penalties. Topics covered include requirements for large quantity generators, small quantity generators and conditionally exempt small quantity generators. It helps meet initial training and annual review requirements.
