OSHA and NFPA70E require that workers be “qualified” in order to work on or near energized electrical systems. “Qualified,” according to NFPA 70E, means “one whom has the skills and knowledge related to the construction and operation of the electrical equipment and installations and has received safety training on the hazards involved.”
